9. Heath Miller, TE (2005)

Heath Miller wasn’t as flashy as some of the tight ends we see in the NFL today, but if you want to talk about a well-rounded football player with a reliable pair of hands, look no further than Heath.

The 2005 1st round draft choice of the Steelers, was a security blanket for Ben Roethlisberger throughout his career. Though his numbers don’t jump off the page, Miller did a lot of work that went unnoticed.

Heath Miller was an exceptional blocking tight end, who could square up his pads and carve running lanes for his teammates. He was a selfless and humble player who you would never find arguing with the coaching staff or complaining about targets.

He wasn’t targeted as much as some of the other tight ends around the league, yet everyone knew that Miller was always one of the best in the business. Pro Football Focus acknowledged Miller on their ‘Page of Fame: Tight Ends’ article that graded the best tight ends from 2007 to 2013.

Heath never had an NFL season where he eclipsed 76 receptions or 816 receiving yards or 8 touchdowns, but everyone knew number 83. Heath will go down as one of the best (if not the best) tight ends in Steelers history.
