How will the first string offensive look?

The Steelers may play their starters for the first time since last season. I think everybody is wondering how they will look? The success of their play may not matter, but it is an indication of where their offense is at this point.

They have rested veterans like Ben Roethlisberger, Maurkice Pouncey, David DeCastro, and Ramon Foster. The question is, will those guys play in the second game. I am certain that Roethlisberger won’t play, but will we see the first-team offensive line?

The offensive line has been very good and the starting five have all played together. The worry is if they rest them, will they be ready for New England? This is a serious question because this first game is more difficult than it usually is. The Steelers will be playing the reigning Super Bowl champs. They also beat the Patriots the last time in a good game and so the Patriots will be hungry for revenge.

I think if the first-team offense can leave the field with the lead, then that will say that the Steelers offense is for real this year. It would be nice to see as many of their regulars as they can. I also want to see how James Washington and Donte Moncrief play with the new offense.

This unit may be shaking the cobwebs out from the last season, but they also might be building on an offense that has less drama tied to it.
