Can the defense keep its pace with the first two games?

The Steelers defense has played well the first two games and it is looking like this could be a stronger group in 2019. We have seen an upswing in Bud Dupree’s play and the secondary looks better with Nelson and Edmunds is in his second year. So is this defense as good as their draft statuses are? We will see.

This game will be the biggest test as the first string will likely get to play the whole first half. I am hoping to see the edges continue to produce and the secondary to be shored up. I also want to see Devin Bush be the stud in the middle that he was in the first preseason game.

There are some questions I have about how cornerback play will go. Joe Haden is getting to be the wrong side of 30 and may start to slow down this year. Steven Nelson is the other corner and it will be interesting to see how he does in a Steelers uniform. I haven’t been impressed with Mike Hilton this preseason. The question is, can cornerback play hold up?

It will also be important to see if T.J. Watt and Bud Dupree can get going at the same time. If the two can play well, this defense will be dangerous.
