TJ Watt/Stephon Tuitt

I am not going to lie to you; this was a tough list to compose. But, I’d be doing TJ Watt & Stephon Tuitt a disservice by not including them.

They got the turnover game started on the opening drive of the game: Stephon Tuitt tipped a pass that TJ plucked away. This set the Steelers up with their first points of the game.

Stephon Tuitt early on lit up the 49ers backfield. He recorded the only sack of the game and played good run fits in the first half.

TJ Watt not only recorded an interception, but he also played good ball awareness throughout the game. This led to what could have been a game-changing fumble.

Then, of course, Conner coughed the ball up, and it was up to the Steelers defense again. Stephon Tuitt and TJ Watt put the pressure on Jimmy G as he missed an opportunity to convert a third down and long–which was wiped away after a holding penalty on Barron.

The only knock on them was the defense getting gashed in the second half. Like I said earlier though, it doesn’t help your offense couldn’t help keep you off the field consistently.

TJ & Stephon Tuitt have played well overall through the first few weeks. They will have to continue to play at a high level if this team has any chance to turn things around.
