The Steelers can win if defensively…

Ryan Fitzpatrick hasn’t defeated Pittsburgh in his career. Last year his comeback attempt in Tampa Bay on Monday Night Football came up just short.

Speaking of Fitzpatrick, since the Steelers acquired Minkah the defense has looked like a well-oiled machine. This week, the defense comes in a little banged up and will look to continue to steamroll.

To be frank again: the Dolphins offense is bad.

As always, the Black n Gold will have to not underestimate a bad team as they seem to typically do. Fitzmagic will want this win.

The Steelers defense will still have to execute in all phases on defense. The Dolphins still have a good running back in Kenyan Drake and a decent receiving corp (certainly not great though.)

With Stephon Tuitt done for the year and the top two corners dealing with groin injuries, the Dolphins could expose weaknesses in those areas if the defense doesn’t execute.

Making any team one dimensional is crucial. Pittsburgh has done a good job of making this happen in their recent games. The Dolphins talent on the offensive line is simply too poor for the Steelers not to dominate.

Taking away the run game puts the pressure on Fitzpatrick. The Steelers proved last year in the first half pressure puts out the Fitzmagic.

The key for the defense will be executing and not underestimating a bad team. You cannot afford a loss, especially against a bad, bad team.

Pittsburgh will have work to do for the rest of the year to push towards the postseason. It starts this week.
