Wilson would be a solid OT with the Steelers

3rd round pick, 85th overall

Isaiah Wilson, OT, Georgia

While offensive tackle isn’t a need on paper, adding one early may prove to be a good value and good for the future of this line down the road. Both Alejandro Villanueva and Matt Feiler are free agents next year, and both will want reasonable deals for the value they bring. The problem is, JuJu Smith-Schuster, James Conner, and Bud Dupree are set to be free agents and T.J. Watt will be looking for an extension, so signing both of these guys may become an issue.

As well, there has been a lot of talks of Feiler moving to the inside to replace Ramon Foster, a move that could be more easily realized with Isaiah Wilson getting drafted. Wilson would compete for the RT spot while Feiler would become a full-time OG. Next year, if Villanueva leaves, you can look to move Wilson over to LT.

To Wilson’s credit, he is one of the top tackles in this draft class, but this class is very top-heavy. That’s what will likely cause him to fall this far. He is physically huge at 6’6, 350 lbs and tested very well at the combine for a man his size. He could use the first year on the right side before transitioning over full time to the left side.
