Round Three, Pick 38: Matt Hennessy, C/G, Temple

The Steelers will need an interior guy to add to their team. With Ramon Foster and BJ Finney gone, the interior of their line is a bit depleted. The Steelers signed Stephen Wisnewski but it’s still up in the air whether he will even start.

I think there will be a battle between Stephen Wisnewski, Zach Banner, and Chuks Okorafor for a spot on the opening day offensive line. The good news is that Matt Feiler can start at right tackle or left guard depending on who emerges.

An interior guy could be in the mix for the left guard job, but they could also be the heir to the center position when Maurkice Pouncey retires. The Steelers are still up there in age when it comes to a lot of their offensive line and so getting younger helps.

Matt Hennessey was also a player I liked in the third-round. He has a physicality and intensity that would fit well with the Steelers. He caught my eye at the Senior Bowl with his physicality.

Hennessey is a guy who can hold up in the run game and the pass game. He has a nice punch and he moves well for an interior offensive lineman.

The worry I have with him is his balance. He is going to have to stay on his feet at all times. However, I think some of that comes from his aggressive playing style.
