4th Priority: David DeCastro

The only reason David DeCastro isn’t higher on this list of priority extensions is that his contract doesn’t expire after the 2021 season. However, that doesn’t mean that he’s a player the Steelers want to let go.

Though he turned 30 years old this offseason, DeCastro is one of the best interior offensive linemen the league has to offer. He has now earned two first-team All-Pro appearances and has been selected to five straight Pro Bowls.

DeCastro isn’t quite on an ‘Alan Faneca’ pace (a player who has thus far been robbed of Hall-of-Fame honors), but he will go down as one of the best offensive linemen in Pittsburgh Steelers history when it is all said and done. Though Ben Roethlisberger may be gone by the time he gets his new deal, the Steelers need a least one cornerstone anchor to start rebuilding their offensive line around.
