Mike Tomlin: Head Coach of the year

This last award candidate isn’t a player, but he’s been a candidate for this many times throughout his career. Mike Tomlin has done a phenomenal job with the Pittsburgh Steelers in his 13 years as head coach of the team. There is plenty of reason to believe he will be up for this award in 2020.

After finishing the season 8-8 last year, the Steelers are poised to bounce back with a rock-solid defense and the return of their star quarterback in 2020. During his tenure as head coach, Tomlin has never finished the season with a losing record.

With seven teams now making the playoffs from each conference, Pittsburgh could easily find itself in the hunt this year. If they can finish as one of the top three or four teams in the AFC, Mike Tomlin will be a candidate for Head Coach of the Year in 2020.

It’s hard to say if any of these players will ultimately receive an award for their efforts in the upcoming season, and with 31 other teams with competing players and coaches, it won’t be easy. However, these three Steelers are legitimate candidates for these awards in 2020.
