Steelers 2020 final 53-man roster predictions
Specialists (3)
Kicker: Chirs Boswell
Punter: Jordan Berry
Long Snapper: Kam Canaday
No surprise at this group as this core has been together for a few seasons now and that will only change with the competition. Berry has gotten some run for his money in camp but the Steelers will probably go with the guy they know during this unique training camp environment.
Practice Squad (16)
QB: Paxton Lynch
RB: Wendell Smallwood and Trey Edmunds
WR: Amarah Darboh and Ray-Ray McCloud
TE: Kevin Rader
OL: Derwin Gray, JC Hassenauer, and Jarron Jones
DL: Carlos Davis, Cavon Walker, and Henry Mondeaux
OLB: Jayrone Elliott
CB: Trajan Brandy and James Pierre
This group has some names from last year’s practice squad and this year’s draft class. The good news is that these players are coming along but they need some more seasoning. A year on the practice squad will help them all develop and adjust to the next level before a more significant role is created for them on a future team.
The Steelers enter the season with endless possibilities that could lead back to contention for the NFL’s ultimate prize. The team building stops here as the initial 53 are formed and the team becomes one.
