3. Benny Snell

Benny Snell exploded out of the gate for the Steelers in Week 1. Against the New York Giants in his first action in 2020, the second-year running back earned 113 yards on the ground after James Conner exited the game with an injury. Though he had a fumble that nearly cost the team late in the game, fans were raving about his performance.

Since then, he hasn’t been good at all. Snell has averaged less than 1.7 yards per carry in both Week 2 and Week 3 and has two fumbles in the first three games of the season. While some of this was because he has been asked to come in and move the chains on short-yardage situations, his impact has otherwise been very minimal.

Another testament to this is that Snell is the only Steelers running back struggling at the moment. While he’s failing to bust out successful runs, Antony McFarland and James Conner are busy running for over 5.5 yards per carry. Many thought that Snell would make major strides in his second NFL season about becoming Conner’s eventually replacement, but right now, he looks like just another guy.
