Chase Claypool looks like the real deal

I hope you had Chase Claypool in your Draft Kings lineup on Sunday because you weren’t winning big money without him. Prior to Week 5, the rookie receiver had just 9 targets on the year, so who would have predicted that he would burst onto the scene with an eye-popping 4-touchdown performance this week?

In addition to finding paydirt four times, Claypool reeled in 7 receptions for 110 yards on 11 targets. He would have had another big pass as well if he wasn’t called for a touchy offensive pass interference call down the right sideline in the second half of the game.

At 6’4” and 238 pounds, Claypool has an incredibly rare blend of size and speed (4.42 at the NFL Combine). That was certainly on display on Sunday. Claypool was the only Steelers pass-catcher to average more than 8.6 yards per reception on the game, and he continues to turn heads with the impressive play he started back in training camp.

It may be early in his NFL career, but Chase Claypool certainly looks like he’s going to be the real deal for this team. He’s quickly going to make teams remember that 10 receivers were drafted before him this past April.
