Milestones

Ben Roethlisberger now has 150 all-time wins. He is the winningest Steelers quarterback ever. As far as all NFL quarterbacks, Ben is fifth in wins overall with 150. He now needs 36 more victories to surpass Brett Farve and Peyton Manning, who both have 186 wins apiece.

Drew Brees and Tom Brady are the only other active Quarterbacks in front of Roethlisberger. Brady has 224 career wins, with today’s win over the Raiders and counting, While Drew Brees now has 167 wins as the Saints edged out Carolina this week as well.

Odd Game Statistics

The Steelers did not break the 100-yard rushing mark this week. It’s the first such game the Steelers have won while scoring 27 plus points without rushing for 100 yards since an October 23, 2005, 27-13 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals

Killing the Clock

The Steelers’ opening drive had 16 plays taking up nine-plus minutes. It’s the longest drive with that many plays since the 2010 AFC championship against the New York Jets, accounting for penalties. It’s their longest regular-season game-opening drive with 16 plus plays since playing the Ravens on October 1, 2017. This drive was the Steelers’ longest drive of 15 plus yards against the Titans since September 28, 2003, when they lost to the Titans 30-13. This drive also marks the 15th such drive by the Steelers of 15 plus plays since 2001.

Oops

Ben Roethlisberger had his share of miscues this weekend. He threw three interceptions in Sunday’s game against the Titans. Thanks to the Steelers building leading at one point by 20 points in the third quarter, the interceptions, while costly and allowing the Titans to narrow the score to three points, the interceptions did not prove decisive, and they held on to win.

However, this is the first time since December 11, 1960, in a 27-21 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in which the Steelers had at least 24 plus points by the third quarter as well while throwing three interceptions and still winning the game.

First Time Since Losing the Coin Toss

The game with the Titans is the first time in Steelers history; they have equaled 654 total combined yards with their opponent while losing the coin toss. Twice before, they have equaled 654 total combined yards; both of those times, they won the coin toss.  The only other games they have equaled 654 total combined yards came in a 2012 victory over the ravens and a 2010 loss to the New York Jets.
