Winners: James Washington

James Washington is having himself quite the streak recently. While he isn’t playing quite the number of snaps fans want him to, he is making the most of the opportunities when he is on the field. He displays good hands, solid route running, and a physical attitude that is unique for a receiver his size. He isn’t afraid to make the tough catch and try to run someone over when given the opportunity.

All of those traits were once again on display this week, as he caught three passes for 29 yards and a score. Outside of JuJu Smith-Schuster, Washington was the best receiver on the field. He isn’t an athletic marvel, and he struggles to make guys miss and win deep, but no matter, he is adding a physical presence to this offense.

Arguably his biggest issue on the game was the ball placement he was provided. The deep interception was thanks to an underthrow and had some of his other targets been more on point, he may have had a huge stat line. He is a trusted target though, and one that was a breath of fresh air once again this week. He doesn’t have the highest upside of the Steelers receivers, but he is becoming one of the most dependable.
