3 winners and 4 losers from Steelers 26-15 loss vs. Bills
By Andrew Falce
Winners: Cameron Sutton/Mike Hilton
I’m listing both Hilton and Cameron Sutton as winners this week, as both were the best players in the Steelers secondary last night. Starting with Hilton, he continued to do the things that make him great. He was feisty as a tackler, applied some pressure as a blitzer, and provided good not great coverage out of the slot. While his interception was more a result of great pressure and not great coverage, he has still cemented himself as one of, if not the, best slot corners in the league.
Sutton was even better though. Playing on the outside, he was all over the field and was the best corner in coverage once again this week. As well, he added some big plays for the defense as well. His interception was a thing of beauty. It required a lot of awareness and concentration, which are two traits he is thankfully rich in.
As well, he showed some Hilton like strength as a blitzer, getting home on Allen and causing an “incompletion” although it was clearly a fumble. His coverage was stout, and his big-play ability was present. He is slowly becoming a top priority for the Steelers this offseason, as losing a player of his caliber would be a blow. He has become one of, if not the, best corner on this team so far in 2020.
