Round 6:

At one point in time, Walker Little was a slam dunk first round pick. His size, athleticism, and mauling blocking was a huge part of Stanford’s success. Unfortunately, injures and COVID have kept him off the field, meaning he is more of a question mark than anything as a potential starter. His stock seems to be tumbling, meaning the Steelers could get a steal with him in the sixth round.

What really hurts Little’s stock is just how deep this class is at tackle. There are quite a few options at tackle that have leaped frogged Little due to their solid tape and testing. If the Steelers are patient with selecting a tackle, they could reap the rewards of landing a potential starter in Little. He would need a few years to get back into playing shape, but it would be a win to add him so late in this draft.

The Steelers don’t really need an offensive tackle early. Their starters are set, and they have an established swing tackle as well. A rookie would realistically be the last offensive lineman to make the roster and likely an inactive most weeks unless an injury occurs. This would give Little some time to readjust himself before being asked to play. Overall, this is a perfect match if he lasts this long in the draft.
