Can Dan Moore do enough to push Chukwuma Okorafor for the LT job?

Dan Moore has been much better than anyone could have expected in his first training camp and preseason of his NFL career. However, don’t automatically assume that his impressive play is going to catapult him into the starting lineup.

The Steelers seem to be giving every opportunity to veteran Chukwuma Okorafor, and he will get one more chance to prove to the team why he can hold up at left tackle. If he doesn’t, however, this could open the door for Moore to swoop in and impress the coaches one final time before the season kicks off.

Depending on how both of these left tackles play during the final preseason game could determine which one ultimately winds up with this job. I’m sure that Adrian Klemm is well aware of Okorafor’s struggles over the past two preseason games, he needs to see more from him against the Panthers.

At this rate, it seems like only a matter of time before Dan Moore becomes the starting left tackle. That may not happen until next year, or it could happen as soon as Week 1 of the 2021 season if Pittsburgh’s coaching staff is willing to let these two players duke it out.
