Steelers should drop the interior linemen

Arguably the Steelers top need, there was a lot riding on the performances of both Kenyon Green and Tyler Linderbaum at the combine as both were realistic first-round picks if they fell to pick 20. Neither did themselves any favors though and now both could be closer to being off this team’s draft board than being locked to get picked if available.

Starting off with Linderbaum, the Iowa center didn’t athletically test at the combine, but he did get measured. The results were lackluster, as he can in on the shorter side and lighter side for a center. Worse yet, he only had 31-inch arms. That is extremely small for any lineman, and his lack of reach will limit him as a pro.

As for Green, he measured in well, but his athleticism is questionable. All of his times were average to slightly below average, and that isn’t something you want from a top pick in the draft. At this point, there is a real argument that the team should target Zion Johnson before either of these options and better yet, perhaps the team just looks to add depth after the flurry of free-agent additions
