Just want to be out there
Ben Roethlisberger stopped by Steelers practice on Tuesday, in crutches, and spoke with Teresa Varley about his injury and his anxiousness to get back out on the field.
"“I’m trying to convince coach Tomlin to let me be on the sidelines. I’m still negotiating that with him. He has a no-crutch rule on the sideline, so if I can get rid of these, we will see what happens.” –Ben Roethlisberger"
A no-crutch rule is pretty understandable when you think of how many times a play enters the sidelines for one reason or another. Already being on crutches means you can’t get out of the way of players coming right at you and could injure you further. If Ben can shed the crutches by Thursday night, that’s definitely a good sign.
Rivalry night
Regardless of the wins and losses and who is or isn’t playing the Steelers and Ravens games remain one of the NFL’s best and most intense rivalries and there’s no reason to think that this game will be lacking in any intensity either.
Chris Adamski of the Trib spoke to Steelers inside linebacker Sean Spence on what the Steelers and Ravens rivalry means to him.
"“I think this is the most physical game I’ve ever played in. It’s a lot of hard hitting. The rivalry is rich because of things in the past. It’s very exciting to play in.” – Sean Spence"
Roster Move
The Steelers made a roster move on Tuesday, signing offensive lineman B.J. Finney to their practice squad and releasing offensive lineman Barrett Jones.
We have signed OL B.J. Finney to our practice squad and released OL Barrett Jones.
