There is nothing more exciting than December football in the NFL and the AFC North is a shining example. In an unexpected turn of events Bengals’ quarterback Andy Dalton left the game early with a broken thumb on his throwing hand. This set the tone for a convincing victory by the Steelers significantly impacting this week’s rankings.

The Bengals still have two more wins than the Steelers and Andy Dalton will not require surgery on the thumb of his throwing hand. So the likely hood of relinquishing the AFC North crown to the Steelers is slim but possible. All statistics aside the Steelers were in control on Sunday in Cincinnati just as they were in Pittsburgh on November 1st in that 10-6 loss. Pittsburgh has the more dynamic offense. Defensively the Bengals are 10th, the Steelers 23rd and each team is giving up 17.6 points and 20 points respectively. The Steelers have 24 takeaways, the Bengals 21 so things are pretty comparable on that side of the ball. At this point right now the eye test, for me, shows Pittsburgh is the better team. The momentum arrow is pointing up for them these next three weeks while the Bengals arrow is shaky. The Steelers have to continue their winning ways and win out the rest of the way. There is no team that would want to face them in January if they close out the second half 7-1.. (8-5). Previous: 2nd. Pittsburgh Steelers. 1. team. 55

Previous: 3rd. Baltimore Ravens. 3. team. 26. Baltimore lost 35-6 to the Seahawks Sunday and the remainder of the year does not look promising either. Things are so bad for the Ravens that the scheduled primetime game with Pittsburgh on December 27th was bumped to show the Giants vs. the Vikings. Hopefully the Ravens can get a win form the Bengals.. (4-9)

53. The Browns have little to be proud about this season so a convincing home win last Sunday vs. the 49ers 24-10 can bring a few smiles to the area at least for a week. <strong><a href=. (3-10). Previous: 4th. Cleveland Browns. 4. team
