Steelers season never truly ends for Steeler Nation so while the offseason starts to heat up we’ll be busy looking for mentions of your Black & Gold so we’ve got you covered. Here’s your Steelers Morning Huddle for Saturday, Mar. 5th.

Don’t get stuck on names

Now that the NFL Scouting Combine has come and gone the clues that point to who a team might fancy in the upcoming draft are few and far between. Bob Labriola explains that when fans read a story about the team meeting with a certain player there’s no reason to think too much of it.

More from Steelers News

While Steelers GM Kevin Colbert did meet with guys like Penn State DE Carl Nassib and Oregon QB Veron Adams at the combine the meet with even more guys that we never heard of.

The Steelers interviewed about 60 players during the stretch of time in Indianapolis and interviewed even more previously at the Senior Bowl in Alabama in January.

Must have guy

ESPN listed the one free agent signing that each NFL team needs to make this year and there’s no surprise as to who was picked for the Steelers. Chargers safety Eric Weddle is going to be highly courted this offseason, there’s no doubt about that.

Along with the Steelers they list the Jaguars, Raiders and Panthers as teams who need to sign Weddle as well. He may be a bit too costly for what the team normally spends on outside free agents but he certainly could fit in the defensive scheme and they could potentially sell him on the sentiment of playing for a legit Super Bowl contender.

Dancing Machine

Here we go again. There will be another Pittsburgh Steelers receiver to dance across the stage for ABC’s Dancing with the Stars. Ian Rapoport reported on Friday that Steelers receiver Antonio Brown will be a participant on the show alongside Broncos linebacker Von Miller and a bunch of D-list celebrities.

Three former NFL players to join the show have taken the win with Emmitt Smith in 2006, Hines Ward in 2011 and Donald Driver in 2012. Apparently the show has been on since 2006. Who knew?
