Steelers season never truly ends for Steeler Nation so while the team starts to put in the work to prepare for the 2016 NFL season we’ll be busy looking for mentions of your Black & Gold so we’ve got you covered. Here’s your Steelers Morning Huddle for Thursday, May 12th.

Mystery knee

Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell is active on social media but of all that he shares with fans he’s unable to fully share the status of his knee since suffering a multi-ligament knee injury roughly six months ago.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reminds us that the Steelers’ OTAs will begin in a few weeks and Bell’s participation will be limited due to his not yet being cleared for turning and cutting. The Steelers are needing Bell to have a return reminiscent of Adrian Peterson’s return from his ACL injury a few seasons ago.

If anyone can do it, it’s Bell.

Top 100

The NFL Network is doing their annual “Top 100 Players” of the year countdown as voted on by the players and Steelers defensive end Cameron Heyward makes his first appearance on the list. Heyward was ranked No. 88 for the 2016 year after finishing the 2015 season with 54 tackles and seven sacks.

Heyward was voted as a defensive team captain last season and has emerged as not only a leader on defense but also as a force to be reckoned with for the opposing line.

No issues here

Just because he likes to stir the pot, PFT’s Mike Florio reminds us that Steelers receiver Antonio Brown still doesn’t have a new contract. Last offseason Brown, through his agent Drew Rosenhaus, flirted with the idea of a holdout but eventually showed up for training camp.

The Steelers also moved some money around like they like to do and created some bonus money by taking $2 million from this year and gave it to him last year. With Brown still participating in ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars” he could be absent for time to time for voluntary offseason activities so that circumstance just lends itself to speculation about another possible holdout.

Like the first one that didn’t amount to anything I’d expect this year won’t be any different.
