Steelers season never truly ends for Steeler Nation so while the team starts to put in the work to prepare for the 2016 NFL season we’ll be busy looking for mentions of your Black & Gold so we’ve got you covered. Here’s your Steelers Morning Huddle for Saturday, June 11th.

Up-notched

If someone tells me to take it down a notch I immediately take it up at least two to three notches just to spite them, because I’m petty like that. But Steelers second-year receiver Sammie Coates, on the other hand, is turning it up a notch to make a big leap in production.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler notes Todd Haley’s comments about how Coates, who played sparingly as a rookie last season, has attended every second of the offseason workouts and organized team activities along with spending the winter in the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex training to stay in peak condition for the upcoming season.

The Steelers are going to lean on Coates in the absence of Martavis Bryant, who was suspended for the entire 2016 season.

Dream Super Bowl LI matchup

The former players who contribute to the NFL Network debated on what their dream Super Bowl LI matchup would be. Former Steelers defensive back Solomon Wilcots described a Steelers vs. Cardinals matchup where he would give the Cardinals the edge.

That is some fantasy, a busted-up old-ass Carson Palmer leading a Bruce Arians offense that gets tons of yards but no points against Ben Roethlisberger in his prime with Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell.

Mind you the Steelers took down the Cardinals last season with a Michael Vick/Landry Jones combo under center.

When you play Pittsburgh you play the whole city

The Pittsburgh Penguins hosted the San Jose Sharks for a potential Stanley Cup clinching Game 5 on Thursday night. The Pens unfortunately lost and have to travel to California for a Game 6 on Sunday night but the Steelers showed up in full force to support their city and fellow athletes.

Not sure why Antonio Brown was wearing a fur coat in the summer but, you know, different strokes. In case anyone remembers the last time the Penguins won the Stanley Cup in 2009 the Steelers had also won the Super Bowl.

Next: Steelers sign Javon Hargrave

The Steelers had already won the Super Bowl by the time the Pens won the cup but it’s still a reason to be optimistic. Let’s Go Pens!
