While the Steelers get the pads on and get preparations started on the 2016 regular season we’ll be busy looking for mentions of your Black & Gold so we’ve got you covered. Here’s your Steelers Morning Huddle for Monday, Aug. 1st.

Merry Christmas

Steelers president Art Rooney II said that the Steelers will wear the Nike Color Rush uniforms during their Christmas Day home game against the Ravens. Teresa Varley had Rooney’s comments about the uniforms and the AFC North rivalry from an interview he did with Missi Mathews.

More from Steelers News

"“We will be wearing what is referred to as our ‘color rush’ uniform for the first time. I know in a few weeks we are going to be able to unveil exactly what that looks like. We haven’t had a home game on Christmas in my memory. It will be unique, special. This will add a little more excitement to what I am sure will be an exciting day.” – Art Rooney II"

It was previously “leaked” that the Steelers would be wearing their color rush uniforms for the Thanksgiving night game against the Indianapolis Colts. This is a good time to remind you that you’ll be spending all of your holidays with the Steelers this year.

Not going to talk about it

Seems like we all had our chance for James Harrison to be vocal about his displeasure with how the NFL seems to be treating him in regards to their desire to interview him based on PED allegations. Now that he’s in camp he’s not in the mood to talk about it publicly anymore. And why should he?

The NFL made public their intentions on basically cornering Harrison, along with the rest of the active players named in the now-recanted Al-Jazeera America report, once they got to training camp but so far no such interviews have taken place. Could they have given up?

Pay the man

The idea of Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown holding out over a new contract was always an idea created and perpetuated by the media. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler finally got Brown’s own words on the matter and it’s hard to argue with his side.

"“You have to take care of your guys. If a guy underperforms, you get rid of him. If a guy over performs, you take care of him.” – Antonio Brown"

Brown was responding to a question on whether he thinks the Steelers should make an exception for him on their long-standing policy of not renegotiating contracts of non-quarterbacks until the player’s final year of their deal. Brown has two years left on his current contract.
