Before the team heads down to Baltimore to remind everyone who runs the AFC North we’ll be busy looking for mentions of your Black & Gold so we’ve got you covered. Here’s your Steelers Morning Huddle for Friday, Nov. 4th.

Follow in their path

Le’Veon Bell explained that the Jets left a map for how to run on the Ravens defense. They’re ranked 4th against the run in the league so far this season but the Jets put 155 yards on them on the ground in their Oct. 23rd 24-16 victory over the Ravens, as Mike Prisuta reminds us.

Bell said that the key to gain rushing yards on Baltimore’s defense is to just keep at it.

"“They kind of chipped away at them. You run at a defense a certain amount of times, everybody’s going to break down eventually.” – Le’Veon Bell"

Seems like an excellent strategy to employ if Landry Jones starts in place of Ben Roethlisberger on Sunday.

Fun rivalry

Offensive guard Ramon Foster is looking forward to the rivalry game between Pittsburgh and Baltimore. This is the rivalry that I’m guessing the Bengals think they have with us but don’t because they’re just dirty and awful and will always lose in the playoffs anyway.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler points out that Pittsburgh is looking for some payback from last year as the Ravens got two of their only four wins last season from them. The Ravens have won the last three meetings between the two rivals.

Mostly the Steelers have been losing when they don’t have Roethlisberger in but either way this is a bad trend that needs to change ASAP.

You’re up

Rookie cornerback Artie Burns will make his first NFL start on Sunday in Baltimore. The PPG’s Ray Fittipaldo explains that it is the first official step in the expanding role Burns has in the defense. William Gay will continue to step in when the defense goes into the nickel or quarters package.

Defensive and secondary coaches have decided that this look will be the best way to go after how the Ravens will line up offensively. Whether that means Burns will be covering former Steeler receiver Mike Wallace or not will depend on how things shake out on Sunday.

Good luck, rookie.
