While the team prepares to spend Christmas with the Ravens we’ll be busy looking for mentions of your Black & Gold so we’ve got you covered. Here’s your Steelers Morning Huddle for Monday, Dec. 19th.

Not all heroes wear capes. Some of them wear special shoes they use to kick in the snow. Chris Boswell tied a Pittsburgh Steelers franchise record on Sunday with six field goals in the 24-20 win over the Bengals.

More from Still Curtain

His performance earned him honors as Bob Labriola’s pick for Digest Player of the Week. Boswell tied former Pittsburgh kickers Jeff Reid and Gary Anderson with six field goals in one game. Four of his six field goals were from 45-plus yards out. And he drilled every last one of them.

Secure the record alert

Antonio Brown just said the other day that individual records have a way of filling in on their own in the quest for team goals. He was right. On the way for Pittsburgh to secure their fifth straight victory to put them in place to win the AFC North Division next week Brown set an NFL record.

With his second reception of the game Brown sealed his name in football history by becoming the first ever player to record 470 receptions in a four-year span. No one has ever done that before. I like that.

Don’t disrespect the Terrible Towel

You’d think that people would have learned by now. You’d also think that a piece of golden terrycloth wouldn’t be such a source of resentment for grown men who play a professional sport. You’d be wrong if you’re talking about the Cincinnati Bengals.

Running back Jeremy Hill decided to take his frustrations out (after having just scored a touchdown) on the Terrible Towel by unsuccessfully attempting to rip it in half. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler said that Hill hadn’t pre-planned the demonstration with the towel.

He rushed for 44 yards on 14 carries and scored a touchdown prior to messing with the Terrible Towel and then netted minus -1 yard on six attempts after the Towel incident. Draw your own conclusions.
