Our friends over at nflmocks.com have conducted a pretty cool way of approaching a mock draft – using more than one person to select in the draft (you know, kind of how it is in real life). A collective of seven various NFL/team bloggers made selections for the 32 teams for the first two rounds of the draft.
Once again, Florida G Mike Pouncey is tapped as the first pick for the Steelers. Not much reason was given as to why the pick was made other than the Steelers might be interested in keeping the family together (a little disappointing, but hey it is a Seahawks blogger for that pick). The second pick went to Virginia CB Ras-I Dowling. Blogger, theefootballexpert, in his reasoning gives nod to the serious need for a corner and feels that the Steelers will address that issue within the first two picks.
I’m still not comfortable with the Steelers picking a CB like Dowling if he is simply the best that’s left in the land of corners. I think they go DE instead, but as always, we’ll see what happens on draft day!
How does the rest of the AFC North turn out in this draft?:
Bungles – Nick Fairley, DT, Auburn and Christian Ponder, QB, Florida State
Brownies – A.J. Green, WR, Georgia and Adrian Clayborn, DE, Iowa
Ratbirds – Torrey Smith, WR, Maryland and Curtis Brown, CB, Texas
