DWTS: Hines proposes to Kym… sort of

1 of 2

It is down to the final 5 in the DWTS competition.  This week consisted of two dances per couple – the surprise of the week was the insta-dance.  The concept behind the insta-dance is giving each couple a genre at the beginning of the week but no music.  The music is not selected until after their first dance of the night.  So let’s get to it….

Lead-in

Well, the line at Chipotle was a little long and I didn’t get back until after the lead in was over.  Doh!

The Dance

Hines and Kym danced the Fox Trot to “This Will Be…Everlasting Love.”  The costumes were pretty understated, which is nice for a change.  Damn that ring was huge.   Hines

looked a little flatfooted, but overall seemed to handle the dance fairly well.  He smiled all the way – do I even really need to say that anymore???

The Judges

Bruno (9) – Beaming with a blissful since of happiness, you got me

Carrie Ann (9) – You are a guy’s guy, you stick to the program, great job

Len (10) – Personality radiates, joyful experience, your feet had a little bit of something weird.

Total: 28

My Take

Tonight begins the night of huge inconsistencies with the judging, even for Hines.  Len said that his feet did ‘something weird.’  Weird enough to score a 10?  It gets even worse as the night goes on.  Ralph gets decent scores even though he’s visibly hurt, and Kirstie gets good scores even though she’s still her lumbering self.

I’ve really grown to enjoy watching Hines dance.  No matter what happens on that floor, he always has a charismatic smile that just draws you into enjoying what he is.  Part 2 comin’ up.
