Labor Hope?: Pittsburgh Steelers Hold Meeting at Practice Facility

In a tweet from Trib writer, Scott Brown earlier today, Brown indicates that the Steelers held an organizational wide meeting covering training camp at their facility on the South Side.  Could this mean that owners and players are a few small steps away from reaching an agreement in the labor dispute?  St. Vincent, the city of Latrobe and Steelers Nation are drooling for a deal to get done so that camp can continue in a normal fashion.

Perhaps this means that the retired players don’t have much influence right now with their recent lawsuit.  The complaint has come very late and will more than likely get thrown out in court because (I hate to say it) it doesn’t hold much water.  Regardless what the courts decide, our ‘friends from the home’ won’t fall into any favor from fans who are starving for football.  A full season is still very possible if a deal is done soon.  Fans more than likely are perceiving the retired players’ suit as an unnecessary obstacle.  If the courts somehow allow this suit to move forward and stops a deal from happening, I think fans will just about flip their shit.  Canton, OH may no longer be a safe haven….
