A Look Back at the Steelers’ Previous Trip to Candlestick Park

It’s Wednesday, and that only means one thing:  Another installment of one of my articles that takes a look back at some of the best, worst, exciting, etc. moments in Steelers history.

So today I figured that I would rev the DeLorean up to 88 and discuss the last game that the Steelers played at Candlestick Park.  The game was also a Monday Nighter so I figured that it would be fitting if I wrote an article that took a look back at it.

Introduction:

Those of you that have been reading my articles have become accustomed to my use of words and phrases like “Jagoff,” “Dumpster Fire,” “Nut-Up,” etc..  But when I say that the 2003 season for the Steelers was a complete and total “Dumpster Fire” in every sense of the phrase,  I truly mean it.

If you remember 2003 at all you know exactly what I’m talking about, and if you don’t let me enlighten you with an abridged version of what took place.  A 6-10 record, a 5 game losing streak, terrible Offensive Line play, awful QB play, pathetic Defensive play when the game was on the line, and sloppiness galore were a few of the lowlights of the 2003 campaign.  In fact, the Steelers’ game against the 49ers was a bit of a microcosm of how their season was overall.  So without further ado, let’s take a nightmarish walk down “Memory Lane” and look at the Steelers’ 2003 Monday Night “Dumpster Fire” of a game against the 49ers:
