Apocalypse Soon: End of Days for Tim Tebow in Denver

The former Gator won two national championships and a Heisman Trophy.  In high school, he was voted most athletic, best looking, and most likely to succeed.  He was home schooled, which brings up the uncomfortable question; “Whom did he take to the prom”?   His ‘aw shucks’ attitude and All American looks (he was All American too) make him naturally easy to like.  He is as at ease on the Daily Show as he is on the 700 Club.  He is the anti Ben Roethlisberger on and off the field.  And can we leave the guy alone about his faith!  Holy shit! (Sorry, Reverend) I don’t see where he flaunts his religion any more than other professional athletes.  I would rather look at his post touchdown posturing than see the receiver go propose to a cheerleader.  He doesn’t seem to be looking to profit from his love of God and only speaks of it when he is asked.  Enough said on that subject.

That being said, Tim Tebow may need a little help from above on Sunday, and I ain’t talking about John Denver.  He will be facing the NFL’s best pass defense, even though it is a bit beat up right now.  Ike Taylor will be looking to show the world that he should have gotten a Pro Bowl nod and none of the Denver receivers are going to scare any of the Steelers defensive backs. Pittsburgh’s linebackers are stupidly quick off the edges and Tebow will not be able to rely on getting outside of them for down the field passes.  James Harrison will be more than happy to show him what happens to quarterbacks that run towards him too.  The Steelers defensive front ought to all be drooling over images of Tim Tebow running around in his own backfield with his arm cocked at that weird angle, ball hovering out there away from his body, begging to be stripped. Denver may have luck running right up the middle on the Steelers but they will have to abandon that plan of attack as soon as they get behind.  Lord help the Broncos if they get behind on the Steelers defense.  I think Tim Tebow is a fine human being and a pretty fair pro football player.  I do not believe that his future is in Denver and I am confident that the end is near!  Give as you can….
