Mock Drafts Post-Possible Trades
(Each trade I must add will come to within + or – 5 to 10 points on CBS Sportsline’s Draft-Pick Value Chart, and will only include picks for the 2012 Draft. Even though Pittsburgh could receive an offer to move down like the Patriots did last season (#27 in exchange for 2nd Rounder in 2011 and 1st in 2012 from Saints), I will only be doing picks/trade scenarios which could occur in the upcoming draft. Details aside though, let’s get started here:
Trade with Dolphins
(Miami receives 1st Round Pick (#24) from Pittsburgh in Exchange for 2nd (#42), 3rd (#73) and 5th (#145) Round Picks)

Experience at Left Tackle, and versatile Lineman with size Steelers like.

On smaller side (5’11” 240 lbs.), but has versatility and experience as 3-4 ILB.
#73 Brandon Taylor S (Louisiana State)
Integral piece of Secondary for Tigers during his career, can be groomed as Clark or Polamalu’s replacement.
#86 Mike Martin NT (Michigan)
Bowling-ball frame (6’1″ 306 lbs.), experience playing the Nose, and high motor could make Martin a favorite.
#119 Lucas Nix OG (Pittsburgh)
Western PA and Pittsburgh guy could instantly upgrade Interior Offensive Line.
#145 Rhett Ellison HB/TE (Southern Cal)
Terrific H-Back candidate could push Johnson during Rookie year and take over if he leaves.
#159 Donnie Fletcher CB (Boston College)
At 6’1″ 199 lbs., Fletcher has good size for a Corner and could possibly develop into starter.
#193 Miles Burris ILB/OLB (San Diego State)
Played in 3-3-5 Stack with Aztecs, can help inside and outside on Defense.
#231 Michael Smith RB (Utah State)
Scat-Back could help on 3rd Downs & Special Teams.
#240 Ryan Van Bergen DE (Michigan)
Reportedly impressed Steelers at Michigan Pro Day, and would be solid depth selection as 5-Technique.
#246 Aaron Corp QB (Richmond)
Heir apparent to Mark Sanchez with Trojans has low-risk, high-reward potential as backup.
#248 Toney Clemons WR (Colorado)
Clemons, (6’2″ 210 lbs.) is from Western PA, just met with the team, and could be a solid backup to develop.

Fits mold and size (6’6″ 316 lbs.) of prototypical Steelers Tackle, 3-year starter, and should compete at Right Tackle.
