Steelers MMQB: NFL Offseason News

My friends of Steeler Nation, sometimes life takes twists and turns that don’t always leave us as the fortunate ones.  I imagine that most of us have experienced hardships at one point or another – not all equal in severity, but all are equal in the impression they leave on our lives.  That is why most of us can not only sympathize, but also empathize.

Our dear friend and staff member of NPC, Kimmy, is going through some very difficult times.  The details are incomplete, but I can tell you that her father has been battling cancer for quite some time.  I received notice from her that the battle is nearing it’s end and her father was sent home to spend his final days with family.  Soon there will be another member of Steeler Nation sharing a cigar with The Chief and Cope.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Kimmy and her family as they begin to pepare for their immense loss and begin the healing process.

I ask all of you, our readers, to also keep Kimmy and her family in your thoughts and prayers over the next several weeks and over this next season.  Her dad was a huge Steelers fan (as I’m sure she will gladly and proudly tell you) and this season will be a challenging one to cope with.  I believe that we will be setting up something very soon if you feel compelled to donate money or gifts to either the lymphoma society or to the family.  For now, if you want to contribute, please email me directly at craig.nicepickcowher@gmail.com and we’ll work something out.  Kimmy will be taking some time away from NPC, and the staff here can only hope to come close in capturing her joy, humor and passion that she put into her writing every post while she is away.

Hug your loved ones and be thankful for the time you have with them.  We only cheer and talk about a silly little game, yet there is far more to this life.  Be sure to keep those important to you close, and let them know what they mean to you…. everyday.
