After missing almost all the Steelers offseason practices, due to school rules, Markus Wheaton was seen to be at a disadvantage. After watching Markus Wheaton with my own eyes in camp, as well as against the Giants Saturday night, you would never know he missed all of OTA’s.

Markus Wheaton has been electrifying and continues to make play after play. With a mix of speed, good hands and route running ability, Wheaton looks to be a big part of the Steelers offense this upcoming season.

Against the Giants, Wheaton proved to be a go to receiver for quarterback Bruce Gradkowski, and he began to show why the Steelers took him in the third round of the 2013 draft.

Against the Redskins, I am intrigued to watch Wheaton develop more as a pass catcher for the Steelers, but I am very interested to see how Wheaton fares with some return duties, according to Coach Tomlin.

Right now, Wheaton looks to be the Steelers best kept secret, but he won’t be a secret for long.
