Teresa Varley shared some updated information regarding some of Pittsburgh’s currently sidelined players earlier today on Steelers.com

In her article, Varley ran down a list of some of the players who will return healthy this weekend and some who sustained some bumps and bruises versus the Bengals.  The biggest pieces of news however surrounded the statuses of Heath Miller and Le’Veon Bell, and it looks like rookie running back and Pro Bowl tight end Heath Miller are set to receive extended work in practice this week.

Regarding the status of Miller, head coach Mike Tomlin said the following:

"We expect him to work fully this week and see where that participation takes us, … Now make no mistake we are not expecting Heath to step out of a phone booth with a cape on, but we are looking forward to watching him work and letting the result of that work guide us as how we proceed throughout the week."

As far as Bell is concerned, Tomlin had this to say in Varley’s article:

"Le’Veon is going to ramp up his activity with a minimum of at least individual work, and maybe even some more."

Of course, this is just the same type of abstract garbage we have heard spewed from Tomlin’s mouth for the last six years.  Nevertheless, one has to be encouraged to see Miller working his way back on the field, and we might even get to see “Can’t Answer The” Bell on the field at some point this fall.  Both the passing and running games need upgrades, and Miller and Bell can chip in and help in those areas.

While both will probably not make enormous impacts during the 2013 campaign, their presences on the offensive side of the ball can only help what is one of the most dreadful units in the entire league.
