Ben’s going no-huddle but we’re still going to Huddle up!

I had this awful dream that the Steelers started 0-2 and was off to a worse start in the running game than even last season and the defense still hadn’t gotten any turnovers and only had one sack. Awful right? What a nightmare. Here’s what’s being said about your Pittsburgh Steelers around the block.
Antonio Brown unhappy with Haley’s offense
According to Ed Bouchette of the PPG, on Monday night while we were all screaming obscenities at our TVs directed at offensive coordinator Todd Haley, Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown was having words with him on the sideline. Brown was apparently upset about not getting targeted enough on the field. You think maybe he thought perhaps he could have done a better job with the end-around play Haley called for Cotchery?

Brown doesn’t describe the confrontation as a fight and says the two have talked since and settled the, disagreement.
No-huddle a success for Ben
Mark Kaboly of the Trib reviewed the game tape from Monday’s loss and turns out that we were right, Ben does better when running the no-huddle. Ben went 6 of 10 for 103 yards and had two of the three longest offensive plays of the night while running the no-huddle. While running Haley’s plays Ben was 14-27 for 148 yards and an interception. Some other nuggets of observation Kaboly took from his game review included the fact that after switching to the zone-blocking scheme over the summer, the line has only utilized the technique once so far. Unfortunately that was the play in the first game where DeCastro missed his block and hit Pouncey instead. They didn’t run the zone blocking at all in Cincy. Also the Steelers haven’t improved at all on first downs, which is constantly giving them 2nd and long situations, and subsequently third down conversion problems. Kaboly also noted that LB LaMarr Woodley is a bright spot on the defense.
Steelers a lost cause?
Ed Bouchette spoke with Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio bout the Steelers and their undesirable situation right now. Florio predicts only more doom and gloom for the Steelers but Bouchette still has the faith that the ship can be righted. You can listen to his interview here.

While it’s not Steeler-specific news it is worth noting that the Cleveland Browns concluded a surprising trade yesterday. They dealt their 2012 top draft pick, RB Trent Richardson, to Indianapolis for two 2014 draft picks. Kind of a surprising move in Week 3. The Browns had earlier announced that they’d be starting Brian Hoyer at quarterback against Minnesota on Sunday instead of Brandon Weeden, who is nursing a sprained right thumb. To make up for the absence of a running back the Browns will bring in Willis McGahee to sign pending a physical. You remember Willis McGahee from such phrases as; “Did you know Willis McGahee is still in the league?” Apparently the Browns are going to continue to overhaul the team, under new ownership and GM, even during the season.
