Bob Labriola of Steelers Digest tweeted the following information regarding the health of some of Pittsburgh’s most important players:
Allen’s absence from practice today is definitely some off-putting news, and I know that I questioned earlier in the week whether or not Pittsburgh’s starting cornerback would be ready to play this Sunday. I just hope that the cornerback’s bum ankle will not force him to miss another important game.
Although it does not state it in Labriola’s tweet, one might assume that the “heel contusion” Jarvis Jones suffered on Monday has forced the coaching staff to proceed with a bit of caution with the first round pick. While he was limited today, I am sure that Jones will be healthy enough to play against the Bears.
I will say that I was extremely pleased to see that Steve McLendon (hamstring), Brett Keisel (calf), Curtis Brown (illness), Heath Miller (knee), and Le’Veon Bell (foot) were all full participants in practice this afternoon.
The fact that both Miller and Bell were full participants is tremendously positive, and the Steelers’ offense has definitely struggled without them. Their current group of tight ends and running backs have failed to generate much offense during the first two weeks of the regular season, so it is nothing short of awesome to see both players as close as they are to returning to the lineup.
