Ramon Foster Exits With Chest Injury, Kelvin Beachum Now at Left Guard

Well this season keeps getting better and better, doesn’t it?

After they lost Maurkice Pouncey on opening weekend, another one of Pittsburgh’s starting offensive linemen sustained an injury in today’s game in London.

Ramon Foster exited the game against the Vikings with a “chest injury” according to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk, and the injury has forced Kelvin Beachum into the game at left guard.

Foster’s absence is enormous for the Steelers since he is not only the most veteran member of Pittsburgh’s offensive line, but also because he was looking to step up in a leadership role on the offensive side of the ball.  How long Foster will be out is still a big question, but one has to give credit to Kelvin Beachum for stepping up in his place.

The second year “Swiss army knife” has already played five positions this fall, and could very well be switching to left tackle if turnstile Mike Adams continues to show zero improvement on the blind-side.
