Steelers Reportedly Receive ‘Unannounced Draft Pick’ in Addition to Levi Brown

As uneasy as I was about Pittsburgh’s acquisition of Levi Brown on Wednesday morning, I must say that I will be quite pleased if the following news is true:
While Kaboly and other sources have not shared where (in terms of rounds and specific year) the draft picks swapped between the two teams are located, it is nevertheless interesting to see that the Steelers reportedly received a selection in addition to Brown.
Overall, the trade itself is starting to look like a fiscally responsible move by Pittsburgh’s front office when one considers that they are only paying the veteran minimum salary for Brown. Moreover, it also helps them in the respect that they are not financially tied to the offensive tackle beyond this season either.
Hopefully the trade itself is similar to the one executed between Arizona and Minnesota last fall for cornerback A.J. Jefferson. Like their most recent trade with the Steelers, the Cardinals sent a player and a draft pick (Jefferson and a seventh round pick) to the Vikings for a draft choice (sixth round pick) in the 2012 deal.
Although the thought of Brown on the blind-side scares me, the fact that the Steelers traded for a relative cheap stop-gap and received another piece of compensation in return is at least somewhat comforting to know right now.
And hey, it’s not like we will have to see Mike Adams over there ever again as well.
