90 minutes prior to kickoff, the Steelers and Patriots inactives were announced. There weren’t many surprises as it seems to be the same group of guys as most weeks, other than Van Dyke who was signed by the team five days ago.
Steelers:
QB Landry Jones
WR Derek Moye
TE Richard Gordon
NT Hebron Fangupo
CB Demarcus Van Dyke
OLB: Chris Carter
LB: Kion Wilson
Bills:
OG Antoine McClain
QB Jeff Tuel
WR Robert Woods
CB Justin Rogers
RB Ronnie Wingo
CB Brandon Smith
LB Ty Powell
Analysis:
While Marcus Gilbert was listed as questionable, he is not inactive, which is good news. Also on the offensive line front, David DeCastro is active, and hopefully for the Steelers sake he can continue on from where he left off against Baltimore.
Markus Wheaton appears to be returning after missing time due to a broken finger. At this point, it will be interesting to see how he can do with the limited number of snaps he will receive. Derek Moye of course is inactive in his place.
Vince Williams and Ike Taylor both suffered concussions against the Patriots, so it is good news that they were able to recover quickly.
As far as the Bills go, it is helpful that the Steelers will not have to deal with rookie Robert Woods, but they also have to face rookie quarterback E.J. Manuel, who up until the point of his injury looked very sharp. He will most likely cause problems today for the Steelers secondary that looked very lost last week.
