90 minutes prior to kickoff, the Steelers and Lions inactives were announced. Avoiding the injury bug the past several weeks, the Steelers were hit hard this past game.
Steelers:
LB LaMarr Woodley
DE Brett Keisel
DB Shamarko Thomas
G Ramon Foster
QB Landry Jones
WR Derrick Moye
TE Richard Gordon
Lions:
RB Montell Owens
CB Dwight Bentley
WR Nate Burleson
DE Ziggy Ansah
T Corey Hilliard
QB Kellen Moore
C Leroy Harris
Analysis:
Not practicing all week, it is expected that Woodley, Keisel, Foster, and Thomas are inactive. Filling in for Woodley on the left side will be Jason Worilds, and with Keisel out, Ziggy Hood will be back in the starting lineup. It still remains to be seen if Heyward will stay on the left and Hood will go to the right.
Foster will be replaced by Guy Whimper at left guard. With defensive tackle Suh lining up across from him, he is going to have an interesting day. Finally, while Shamarko Thomas is not technically a starter, he has become a big part of the defense as the extra safety, so it will be Will Allen’s job to continue this role.
The usual players in Landry Jones and Richard Gordon were not given a hat, but the Steelers will be dressing Fangupo in Keisel’s place, and DeMarcus Van Dyke in Shamarko Thomas’ place. These injuries may make it very difficult to win an already difficult game. Next man up!
