According to Bob Labriola of Steelers Digest, the following list of players will be inactive for the Pittsburgh Steelers when they take on the Cincinnati Bengals later tonight:
Inactives for @Steelers: QB Jones, WR Moye, CB Green, ILB Sylvester, C/G Snow, NT McLendon, DE Keisel
— Bob Labriola (@BobLabriola) December 15, 2013
The absences of Brett Keisel and Steve McLendon will definitely hurt Pittsburgh’s already-thin defensive line. This news however does not come as much of a shock, especially since the team promoted defensive end Brian Arnfelt from the practice squad yesterday. It will be up to Ziggy Hood and Al Woods to pick up the slack in the starting rotation, and Arnfelt and Hebron Fangupo could see some playing time as well.
Due to the need for extra defensive linemen, Isaiah Green and Stevenson Sylvester were probably deactivated. I just hope that the Steelers will not be too short-handed on special teams.
It is a shame that Derek Moye is not getting more of a look down the stretch. I just hope Markus Wheaton can see some targets as the team’s number four wide receiver. The Steelers have eight offensive linemen activated, so David Snow’s absence makes sense. In addition, Landry Jones is probably used to riding the pine as the team’s third quarterback.
