NPC’s Week 17 NFL Picks

Think you can pick winners better than the NPC staff?

Here we are at the final Sunday of the NFL season. It goes so fast, doesn’t it? Here at Nice Pick Cowher, we are not only a bunch of nerds who follow the Pittsburgh Steelers tirelessly, but we are also a bunch of nerds who follow the NFL tirelessly. Therefore we put our money (or maybe just pride) where our mouths are and make picks on every NFL game each week. We don’t mess around with point spreads or anything like that. Just straight up picks.

Last week the Steelers won a thrilling game against the Packers to keep their improbable playoff hopes alive. They’ll need to beat the Browns along with hoping for losses by the Ravens, Dolphins and Chargers to earn that 6th AFC Playoff seed. So you’re telling me there’s a chance? The Bengals can certainly benefit from playing hard at home against the Ratbirds considering they still have an outside shot at the #2 seed and a first round playoff bye with a win. We all know that Cincinnati’s best chances of making it to the second round of the playoffs are if they don’t have to play in the first round. I don’t care how badly our hopes can be crushed on Sunday; I love the excitement of Week 17 including so many chances. Every game on the schedule is a divisional matchup and damned near all of them have playoff implications. What more could a football junkie ask for?

Yours truly took home the victory last week with 12 wins and I now have a two-game lead overall. Championship! Our reader participant, Jenn had a respectable week with 11 wins and if she hadn’t taken a week of this season she just might be outplaying most of the NPC staff.

Feel free to make picks of your own in the comments section, or take the opportunity to heckle and criticize our opinions if that’s your deal. Check back next week to see who was crowned NPC NFL Picks Champion (of course it will be me) for the 2013 season. Make your picks or root for your favorite NPC staffer! Here we go Steelers!
