The Pittsburgh Steelers are doing their due diligence when it comes to their efforts to hire a new offensive line coach. With the experienced Ray Brown and familiar Shaun Sarrett already in the mix, the Steelers’ brass are reportedly interested in interviewing Mike Munchak for the vacant position on their coaching staff according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports:

In my opinion, the former head coach of the Tennessee Titans would be a terrific candidate for Pittsburgh’s to interview, and would be an absolutely great hire for the franchise to make. As far as potential offensive line coach candidates are concerned, Munchak might very well be the best one on the open market.

The Hall of Fame offensive lineman was the offensive line coach for the Oilers/Titans for 14 seasons (1997-2010) before he assumed the head coaching job, and his experience and expertise could help to turn Pittsburgh’s young yet extremely talented offensive line into a formidable force.

If the Steelers actually hire the former Penn State Nittany Lion, then I will be nothing short of thrilled. Their offensive line needs some continuity and veteran guidance, and Munchak has the potential to do wonders if he is in a position to do so.
