Steelers season goes all year long so whether we’re looking ahead to the start of free agency, predicting the possible draft choices, or looking around for mentions of your Black & Gold we’ve got you covered. Here’s what’s being said about your Pittsburgh Steelers around the block.

Happy Birthday Ben Roethlisberger

The Pittsburgh Steelers as well as Steeler Nation would like to wish a very happy 32nd birthday to Ben Roethlisberger. The Steelers twitter account included a link of Ben’s best highlights in their birthday tweet to him for you to enjoy.

For all you young fans out there I gotta tell you that there’s something a little sad when you realize that you’re older than the majority of the guys on the Steelers. I grew up following this team and you come to an age when you realize these guys are mostly now so much younger than you and it’s depressing. Stay young, growing up is a trap. At any rate, Happy Birthday Ben!

Scott Brown’s mail bag

ESPN’s Scott Brown answered some questions from his weekly Twitter mail bag this weekend and one of the questions was about trying to predict which direction the Steelers might go with their first round pick in the NFL Draft. Scott said that he agrees with what Art Rooney II said during the combine last weekend in that the Steelers are enjoying the variety that they might have available to them at the 15th pick similar to selecting from a menu at a great restaurant. This draft is deep with talent and the Steelers have a high enough pick that they can really go in a variety of directions with their first round pick and not really make a bad choice. Should be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Linebacker debate

Now that we are in the month of March and the 2014 salary cap has been set the biggest debate on what the Steelers are going to do or need to do will come in the form of the linebackers, per Ed Bouchette of the PPG. Now is the time to figure out what to do between LaMarr Woodley, Jason Worilds, and Jarvis Jones. All these guys for different reasons should be starting at OLB but the Steelers can only keep and afford two of them. Which way do they go?

What are your thoughts, Steeler Nation? Do you like the variety the Steelers will have to choose from with their first round draft pick? Where do you stand on the linebacker debate?
