Steelers season goes all year long so whether we’re breaking down free agency signings, predicting the possible draft choices, or looking around for mentions of your Black & Gold we’ve got you covered. Here’s what’s being said about your Pittsburgh Steelers around the block.
Steelers roster still a work in progress
ESPN’s Scott Brown reminds us that it’s only March. Those of us spending so much energy freaking out about the moves the Steelers have and haven’t made so far in free agency and how the depth chart is looking at this point in time should pay attention to that fact. According to Brown, Mike Tomlin isn’t worried about the roster coming together. Tomlin said that the concerns at depth will be addressed as the Steelers are looking to add as many as 10 additional players to the roster through free agency and the draft.
Steelers receive 3 compensatory draft picks
The NFL has awarded the Steelers three compensatory picks in the 2014 NFL Draft. The compensatory picks are awarded based on the teams’ losses and gains in free agency the previous year. They will receive a 3rd round pick, a 5th round pick and a 6th round pick. That puts the total at 9 picks for the Steelers in the 2014 NFL Draft.
