The day of the year every Steelers fan looks forward to aside from opening kickoff is the release of the schedule. The NFL will release the 2014 schedule Wednesday night on both ESPN and the NFL Network.
While we already know the Steelers will play the AFC South and the NFC South in addition to their AFC North opponents, they’ll also face the Jets and Chiefs as their other AFC opponents this year. Their home games will be Baltimore, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Houston, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Tampa Bay, and Kansas City. Their away opponents will be Baltimore, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Atlanta, Carolina, and New York Jets.
What we’ll find out on the NFL Network and ESPN on Wednesday night will be the dates and times of those games. We’ll be able to find out when the bye week is, how many nationally televised games there will be, and possibly if we’ll get a Thanksgiving rematch against the Ravens.
For Steelers fans across the country, the release of the schedule sparks the travel plans for the year. Whether you’re packing up and heading towards the Burgh or making sure to take advantage of the Steelers playing in their part of the country.
