Sean Spence’s long journey to return

The Steelers have drafted four linebackers since Sean Spence severely injured his knee in preseason of 2012 after being drafted in the 3^rd round. It’s been a long road to recovery for Spence, as Teresa Varley explains. There have been times where even the Steelers coaches weren’t confident that Spence would ever be able to return, which is why they drafted Vince Williams last year. Now things are looking up for Spence, whose knee is healthy and he’s ready to take on contact after behind sidelined last year with a finger injury on top of it.

Homes and Harrison want to return to Pittsburgh

Apparently it’s a hot topic of discussion these days, whether or not some former Steelers could or should end up back in Pittsburgh. According to ESPN’s Scott Brown, Steelers CB Ike Taylor said on his radio show on Tuesday that both guys would like to come back to the Steelers. Of course they would, whether or not it’s a reality or even a possibility is a different story. While the Steelers clearly can’t ever get enough linebackers, it’s not so much veterans they’ve been looking for to add to the defense so bringing in 36-year-old James Harrison, might not be the best way for a defense to get younger and quicker. Santonio Holmes, on the other hand, seems even an unlikelier option as the Steelers added not only veteran receivers in free agency with Lance Moore and Heward-Bey, but also drafted Martavis Bryant. Only time will tell once the Steelers receive the additional cap space on June 1^st what their plans are with former stars but it’s really not surprising to me that they wish they were back in the Black & Gold.

Size matters

I have to be honest; I’m a little disappointed in this picture. I had such high hopes for it but Dri Archer is standing a few steps in front of McCullers, so the real difference in their sizes is off a bit. Still pretty considerable to see the difference in the tallest and biggest draft pick against the shortest. I can see these guys in a buddy cop comedy in the near future.
