Steelers season goes all year long so whether we’re breaking down free agency signings, recapping the draft choices, or looking around for mentions of your Black & Gold we’ve got you covered. Here’s what’s being said about your Pittsburgh Steelers around the block.

Mount McCullers

Mark Kaboly of the Trib did a very good profile of the Steelers’ 6th round pick out of Tennessee, Daniel McCullers. He explains how he has always been a big kid and while it helped him out at first on the football field, it eventually hindered him when he came to be 400+ lbs. his senior year of high school. That and a poor grade point average led him to Georgia Military College for his first two year. When he got to Tennessee, he found his stride as a space-eating nose tackle. His objective for Steelers camp is to work on getting low off of the ball. Also, staying away from Doritos.

Position battles

Ed Bouchette of the PPG explains the three position battles that will be determined through the course of OTAs and training camp for the Steelers. While there has been plenty of turnover on the roster this offseason, there are going to be few actual position battles to create competition in camp. Bouchette’s opinion is that the main competition for the starting positions lie within the defensive line, the inside linebackers, and wide receivers. I tend to agree here but I’m also anxious to see how the safety position will work out this season with the newly acquired Mike Mitchell playing opposite Troy Polamalu, but also hoping to see Shamarko Thomas play a bigger role in 2014.

Tiny Antonio

For the Steelers fan who has everything. I have a Steelers Mr. Potato Head. What is your weirdest piece of Steelers merchandise?
