Salary Cap Update
The Steelers certainly haven’t gone on a shopping spree so-to-speak with the windfall they received on June 1st when LaMarr Woodley’s contract was officially released. According to ESPN’s Scott Brown, the Steelers are still $6.517 million under the salary cap. The Steelers only have second-round pick Stephon Tuitt and third-round pick Dri Archer left unsigned so the Steelers will still be well below the cap after the entire rookie class is inked. What do you think they’ll do with the cap space? Re-sign Keisel? Restructure Ben? Extend Pouncey?
Roethlisberger on OTA’s at Heinz Field
Coach Tomlin brought the team out to Heinz Field for their OTA on Tuesday. He routinely does that so the rookies can experience the field before their first preseason game. Ben Roethlisberger joined 93.7 The Fan following practice to talk about the experience. It’s just a normal day at the office for him, but he realizes how important it is for the rookies to feel comfortable in the stadium. He recalled his first start as a rookie.
"“I got thrown into my first start because Tommy (Maddox) was injured. It was a whirlwind of events and I was just trying not to screw up. I just didn’t want to let my teammates down.” – Ben Roethlisberger"
